Victorian Copper Jelly Mould
Lovely original Victorian copper jelly or cake mould with a tinned interior and hanging loop, dating from around 1860 - 90.
The Victorians loved jellies and intricate desserts, but these weren't like the ones we have today. Full of booze and fruit they would be real show stoppers. Every decent stately kitchen in a large house would have had sets of these moulds in intricate shapes, which would be used for everything from terrines to desserts.
Now they are highly collectable. This is a classic shape, hand hammered over a wooden former to produce the shape it retains its original tinned interior and hanging loop. Excellent condition with a lovely soft copper colour and no holes.
Great for display or use!
